The Northern Lights Hunt club is dedicated to the tradition of hunting and all that surrounds it. Our philosophy is simple: The hunt is much more than the taking of an animal, it is an experience, that as Jim Posewitz observes in his book Inherit the Hunt, is a connection to an ancient and hard-won tradition.

The Northern Lights Hunt Club is centered in Ferry County, Washington. Ferry County is not only a relatively, wild, remote and natural place, it is also the home of trophy animals and people who believe that these animals should be hunted and harvested. No anti-hunters here, just people who love the outdoors and welcome hunters.

Ferry County is a unique place. It is a place where even people who might not like each other will always stop to help each other. It is a place where hunting and fishing is a way of life. Finally, it is a place where the is truth is told. People may exaggerate but the deer don’t lie: Ferry County is full of deer and that is why it is a destination for hunters.

In addition to hunting Ferry County offers numerous outdoor activities. Grouse hunting can be phenomenal. The fishing in Curlew lake produces limits of trout and it is easy to catch a bucket of perch. The state record Muskie was taken from Curlew but we know that it was not the biggest fish caught in the lake. There are numerous smaller lakes, some that offer quality fly fishing only opportunities and the Kettle and San Poil Rivers are managed for and offer quality fly fishing.

The area also offers visitors a rich history to explore. The Stonerose fossil site is open to the public and has been deemed to be the best publicly accessible fossil site in the world. Abandoned gold claims and no longer inhabited boom towns are common.

Northern Lights Hunt Club offers a variety of options for hunters. The hunt can be customized to meet your needs. We can offer luxury accommodations at the K<>K guest ranch (kdiamondk.com) or more modest arrangements at a hotel in town or in a cabin on one of our properties. We also offer an opportunity for camping.

Game Management unit – GMU 101 AND 204

Archery season begins on September 1 and ends on September 27, 2024

Whitetail and mule deer seasons run concurrently. This is a buck only unit during the early season. Although some exceptional whitetail can be had during this season this is the time to focus on mule deer. The mule deer opportunity is good with ample shot opportunities for legal deer.

Muzzle loader season runs september 28 THROUGH October 6, 2024

If your goal is a legal mule deer buck, with the chance to harvest a wall hanger, this is the hunt for you. The season runs from October 7 through October 13. The mule deer are very plentiful, and a patient and skillful hunter has the opportunity to score a score a bragging rights whitetail.

General rifle season opens on October 12, 2024 for both whitetail and mule deer

The season runs through October 25 for whitetail (OCTOBER 24TH FOR GMU 204, OCTOBER 22ND GMU 101, BOTH ANY BUCK) – and through October 25 for three-point minimum mule deer. Trophy whitetail opportunity is limited but nice bucks are common and legal mule deer are common. This GMU is recognized as a deer factory.

Late archery hunt runs from November 10 through December 15, 2023, (GMU 101)

LATE ARCHERY HUNT November 27 through December 15, 2023, (GMU204)

The prime season for a deer of a lifetime is the late archery hunt. This is a whitetail hunt for rutting bucks. This is a stand, rattling, ambush hunt. Massive bucks in full rut are the target. This hunt is conducted from ground blinds and /or tree stands.

The hunts are held on small landholding where bucks are known to be and have been well patterned. This hunt requires patience and skill. Shots are likely to be 40-55 yards.

We can accommodate hunters of all ability levels. We can accommodate handicapped hunters. For non-handicapped hunters we can provide blinds or stationary stands but for best success you should be prepared to walk. The terrain is moderately hilly. The ability to sit and glass for two to three hours is a bonus.

While most of our rifle hunters harvest deer with rifles under .30 caliber, hunters who are comfortable with shots in excess of 350 yards are more likely to see more opportunities for trophy class deer.
